ENGLISH

Michael Rode is the Lead Guide for the Strata Montessori Summer Program and teaches English Language Arts. He brings a love of storytelling, theatre, and creative exploration to every class. With years of experience guiding adolescents, Michael believes deeply in nurturing curiosity, independence, and authentic self-expression. His summer program invites students to think critically, write boldly, and discover the power of their own voice.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION

Colin is passionate about mountain biking and backcountry canoeing. He received his Bachelors of Human Kinetics and Education from the University of British Columbia. He has his ORCKA Instructor Certification and is a Level 1 PMBIA Mountain Bike Guide.

SCIENCE

Calder Hutchinson fell in love with science while watching Cosmos in high school, and has been teaching ever since. After getting a degree in Molecular Genetics at the University of Guelph, he travelled around the world teaching math, chess and science until Strata brought him back to his beloved Hamilton. His summer program invites students to explore their curiosity about the natural world while sharpening their critical thinking skills and their knowledge of the scientific method.
